The musical journey through the rural Aegean surrounding Izmir has been quite an ethnographic experience for me. Since September I have been performing in villages and small towns and been involved in educational events with children. It has been very nice to explore sofar mostly unknown destinations for me. It has also been a precious occasion for me to capture a real picture of the lack of cultural investment on the part of authorities. I hope my observations and hands on experience of these facts will come in useful someday. As for me, for the time being, I am simply happy to see faces of children light up at the sound of the harp.
